Description
The Vacancy Board serves as a "tie breaker" if a vacancy occurs on the Penn
Township board of commissioners. If the Penn Township board of commissioners refuses,
neglects, or is unable for any reason to fill a vacancy in their ranks within thirty days
of the date the vacancy occurred, then the Vacancy Board fills the position. When this
occurs, the Vacancy Board has fifteen additional days to fill the position with a
registered elector of the ward in which the vacancy occurred.
The Vacancy Board consists of
the members of the Penn Township board of commissioners and one registered elector of the
township who acts as the chairman of the Vacancy Board. That one elector is appointed by
the Penn Township commissioners to serve a one-year term.
Public Meeting
No regular meetings. This committee serves at the request of the Penn Township
commissioners.
