Larry Wojcik was elected as Penn Township's treasurer and township tax collector starting in 2006. If you move into the township, you should notify him, so that you receive your bills and tax forms at the appropriate time. He collects the following taxes. Local Services Tax - All individuals who physically work within the borders of Penn Township and earn income from that work are subject to the $52.00 Local Services Tax. Unlike the previous EMS Tax, this is on all sources of earned income. In most cases, this is deducted by your employer. There are exemptions to the Local Services Tax. Please call the tax office, 724-744-1414, for exemption information, or go to www.newpa.com and scroll to the bottom of the page to the subtitle "Local Tax Information". Click on that title and look for the upfront exemption and military exemption. Real Estate Property Taxes - Property taxes are assessed on any real estate held within the township. Westmoreland County/Penn Township Real Estate Taxes are due June 30, while school real estate taxes are due November 30. A discount is available if the tax is paid before the discount date noted on the bill and a penalty applies if the bill is paid late. (view FAQs about real estate taxes) Amusement Device Fees - Amusement device fees are assessed upon any juke boxes or mechanical or electronic games used for profit. The fee amount is $100 per device per calendar year, which is due by March 15. Street Light Assessment - The street light assessment is assessed upon certain areas of the township that have street lights. The tax amount varies according to the property's front footage and is billed with the county/municipal taxes. Junk Yard License - A junk yard license is required by all township junkyards. and Office Hours: Did Your Address Change? The taxpayer is the township tax office's only source of information regarding an address change, so please report your address changes. There are still many 911 changes that have not been made at their office. Payment by Credit Card: Credit Card payments can be made through Official Payments at www.officialpayments.com or 1-800-272-9829. The jurisdiction code is 4807. This is the code for the Penn Township Tax Office. An incorrect code entry will send your payment to the wrong tax office and could cause you to miss a deadline. Please include your tax map number when paying. More information Current Millage Rates: County/Township Tax Deadlines: Monthly Treasurer's Reports: January 2008, February 2008, March 2008
