RECREATION Penn Township residents
are fortunate to have many recreational opportunities available to them.

Multi-Use Recreational Complex
Penn Township has a 45-acre, public,
multi-use recreational complex located at the township municipal building. |

Playgrounds and Other Areas
Penn Township has five community
playgrounds and will eventually have a new civic center that is currently under
construction. |

Organized Recreational Activities
Includes athletic teams,
the Penn Township Fall Festival, summer playground, Penn-Trafford Community Band, and the annual community picnic. |

Bushy Run Battlefield
Bushy Run Battlefield is a 213-acre
historic site located on Route 993, between Route 66 and Route 130, in Penn Township. |

Penn Area Library
The Penn Area Library is located in the
Penn Township municipal building at 2001 Municipal Court in Harrison City. The library
provides free library service and offers many programs. |

Penn-Trafford Adult Education
Penn-Trafford Adult Education (PTAE) is
an all-volunteer organization organizing classes for adults (grade 9 and up) in the
Penn-Trafford School District. Their fall and spring class brochures are included in the Prospectus
(the Penn-Trafford school district's publication) mailed to each resident. A few winter
classes are also scheduled. Non-residents may also participate. Visit

PTARC (Penn-Trafford Area
Recreation Commission)
PTARC is a PA DCNR-funded organization that offers classes, trips, discount tickets,
special events, workshops, and much more for residents of Penn Township, Manor, Penn, and
Trafford. Brochures are mailed directly to residents for their fall, winter/spring, and
summer programs. Non-residents may also participate. Visit their web
