Government
Penn Township is divided into five wards, with each ward being represented by a commissioner who is elected to serve a term of four years.
The municipal staff and the boards and commissions of the township regularly provide recommendations regarding township business to the board of commissioners.
Meetings are held monthly, see dates and times at right, when they review and vote on listed agenda items, such as department reports, hiring staff, purchasing equipment and supplies, land developments, and zoning ordinances.
Marcellus Shale News
As part of Act 13, Penn Township has received $51,513.30 from the Marcellus Shale Impact Fees. A navigation section has been created on the left for information on Marcellus Shale. Please look to this section for new information regarding legislation, fees, and township actions in regard to the Marcellus Shale issue.
Current Pending Legislation
The Oil & Gas Well ordinance status of Pending Legislation is under review to determine if it complies with the updates to the state of Pennsylvania's Oil & Gas Act.
