Penn Township has a police department consisting of approximately 20
full-time officers. Chief John Otto leads the department, which is headquartered off

Ambulance service is provided by Penn Township
Ambulance Association, Rescue 6, which is located in the center of Penn Township at 1030
Sandy Hill Road, Irwin, PA 15642. Rescue 6 is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of
Health as an Advanced Life Support ambulance provider. Rescue 6 is a nonprofit
organization made up of professional and volunteer personnel, that provide emergency and
non-emergency ambulance service. Each year between January 1 and December 31, Rescue 6
offers a subscription plan to residents of its service area. If you would like to become a
subscriber, telephone them to have a subscription brochure that explains all of the

Fire Departments
Penn Township has five volunteer fire
departments. They include:

Residents should be aware that all five Penn Township fire
departments are volunteer organizations that depend upon public
donations to remain open and operational. Unlike some cities, these fire
departments are not totally funded by your local taxes, so please be
generous during their annual fund drives.
